This bit features a sweet iron mouthpiece with copper inlays, designed to encourage salivation and promote a softer, more accepting mouth. Sweet iron naturally develops a light rust (oxidation) with use, creating a taste many horses prefer, while the copper inlays further encourage moisture and bit acceptance. Because copper is a relatively soft metal, some wear over time is normal. Regularly inspect the bit and replace it if excessive wear develops.
